If you don't have much of a music background, this course is the place to start. You will be introduced to the music staff and the piano keyboard. You will be taught to read notes and rhythms and identify key signatures, accidentals, and syncopation. You will learn musical terms that describe tempo, dynamics, and articulation, and come to understand how to navigate your way through a musical score.

There are no prerequisites for this course, as it assumes no prior knowlidge. But examples, optional course-work, and the final exam will be in Finale format. If you don't have any Finale software, you should down load the free Finale Reader here.
